The Exhibition MEN IN SKIRT begins its international route with ESTORIL FASHIONART FESTIVAL and in many ways it can be said it is following its natural path. After decades of lingering uncertainty, transgression and experimentation, the male skirt has been brought to life and regained identity in contemporary fashion design. But its history and origin comes a long way. Its past one that leads us historically to ancient traditions in Egypt, Sumer, Greece or Rome.
The skirt is probably the most relevant offer man has given woman throughout the history of Western dress.
The Portuguese representation was already strongly significant with the presence of Miguel Vieira and is now heightened with five new designers: Ana Salazar, Dino Alves, Filipe Faísca, Nuno Baltazar and Ricardo Dourado, through whom the enterprise and imagination of the new Portuguese fashion design is shown.
The exhibition HOMBRESENFALDA will be at Marina de Cascais from the 2nd to the 11th of July, from 01:00 PM to 09:00 PM.
