Dior Couture Dress

Since Haute Couture it's being in Paris, it's time for us to think about it.
Most of the time we see but we don't even think what os it's all about, and how did they did it.

This video, with just an example of one Dior's dress, really shows the hard work and the amazing craftsmanship of a 'simple' 'plissé' dress!

200 Hours Later...
This is a Dior Couture Dress.

Milan Fashion Week | Men's FW'15

Some images, by the talented and my favorite capturing the live shows, Kevin Tachman.
This was the time for Milan Men's Fashion Week for FW'15.

Some new experiences, like Gucci on the hands of Alessandro Michelle, now the official create director of the brand, or Prada presenting the Men's and Women's [Pre-Fall] together on the same show.

About Highlights? I'll say...

Petite Malle

Speaking of iconic bags.
The ultimate icon is the 'Petite Malle' by Nicholas Guesquiére for Louis Vuitton
A small trunk creating a little clutch revolutionizing the industry and the habits of women carrying their stuff.
It's since this Fall/Winter'14 that we can orderer them at LV stores.

"Crafting these miniature masterpieces requires hundreds of operations; skilled Vuitton craftsmen meticulously attach the bag's body [in luxurious leather] to a boxy wooden frame, before fitting the quilted lambskin lining and finishing with brass hardware."

3Baguette

The iconic French bakery translated to a Italian contemporary icon.
The Baguette by Fendi is as iconic to the Italian's house as 2.55 for Chanel.

Nowadays Silvia Fendi and her team created a modern twist called 3Baguette.
Here presented as an animated video, recreating a DJ set with all the crafted pieces of the bag.
Promising and desirable, I must say.

Please visit Fendi.com
where you can visit this new project and also create your own Baguette
with the new 'myBaguette' app, to personalize and custom your own Baguette.

Prada's Corners

In a first, Prada has invited an outside collaborator to rethink its store window concept.
Italian designer Martino Gamper has unveiled his windows that will be rolled out to Prada's +300 stores worldwide.

With boxy shapes and geometric details, the concept was thinked to marry the new SS'15 collection, as a beautiful complement to the clothes.

"The main idea was to play with perspective and geometry" said Gamper.
The designer wanted to work with wood and create a nature-inspired concept with a simplicity that would enhance the clothes, while displaying the complexity of the wood.

"Entitled 'Corners', the windows are designed as a celebration of the humble corner, while Gamper's work is part sculptural installation, part practical solution that draws viewers into the space forming a magnetic display for the collection and a dramatic sight for passers-by."

Aquazzura's Flagship Store

This is probably one of the most proeminent shoe brand of the moment.
No one can deny the success of the 'Sexy Thing', and the reality of it's allure.

The brand comes now with it's first Flagship Store located on the Palazzo Corsini in Florence.
The Interior Design was entrusted to Portuguese studio Casa do Passadiço (!) revealing some reverent contrasts with graphic patterns and 20th century design classics.

A statement for the eye of passers-by from the street and for the major fans, desiring to go to Florence 'asap'!

London Collections: Men

London Collections: Men is over. We may think a little about what we saw, but our minds always make the end with Galliano for Margiela Couture. That was amazing btw.

But rethinking the shows with some images by Kevin Tachman I can name a few of my favorite shows...
Joseph | Casely-Hayford | Christopher Kane | JW Anderson | Burberry Prorsum and Hardy Amies.

'Showtime'

Elle UK nowadays is one of a few magazines that continues to surprising me, and just keep me smiling.

This time with this 'Showtime' piece that recreates Louis Vuitton's backstage for Summer'15 by Nicholas Guesquiére. Here celebrating the show among his long-time creative influence Jean-Paul Goude.

A true #masterpiece.

"At Vuitton, I want my work to seem like an 'obvious' wardrobe, to come across as a familiar closet to which I can add a very fashionable statement ... I have a clear-cut objective: to gain recognition and break new ground, develop a certain personality and remain faithful to it."
said Guesquiére

"He forged my senses of aesthetics as a teenager, he's an integral part of who I am. I traced his illustrations when I was a kid. So it's a dream come true that our visions and personalities have become one. It's truly a gift."
